   Life is full of unforeseen circumstances and emergent situations can disrupt routine and scheduled events from time to time. In order to minimize such possible disruptions and ensure that cancelations do not unintentionally lead to those time slots no longer being available to other potential clients, The Cognitive Cat, LLC requests that to avoid a $25 rescheduling fee, clients that need to adjust their scheduled appointments alert us at least 72 hours before the upcoming consult of this need. If the appointment is rescheduled within the 72 hours prior to the scheudled appointment, there will be an additional $25 surcharge added to the total price of the scheduled of the consult. 

   Likewise if unforeseen circumstances arise in my life I will also notify the clients before 72 hours, or if not able to notify until within 72 hours, clients will be rescheduled and a onetime 10% discount will be applied to the client's rescheduled consult rate as a show of good faith and fairness. 

   As reviewed above, in order to create successful behavior change using reinforcement-based methods, time and effort are needed to condition these new behavior patterns. That means that there will the expectation of such invested by the client and their family. We can discuss ways to incorporate these changes into the routine in fluid and seamless ways, but planning on investing this initial increased time and effort will actually save time and set both you and the cat/s in your life up for the utmost success. 

   Regarding both success and the aspect of safety, I ask that all participants please minimize distractions and disruptions during consults as well as advising that all members of the family be present to have a voice and to be included in the communication and understanding of the plan of care that is agreed upon. I find that the most successful cases are those that are not only invested with appropriate time and effort, but those also in which all of the family members have active parts to play. Such active participation helps to fairly allocate the time and effort needed as well as strengthens the trust account and relationship of the cat/s in your lives with the whole family unit. 

   The Cognitive Cat, LLC is grateful and appreciative for the valuable working relationships it has established and maintained with its clients. Such relationships are built upon trust, respect and empathy. Though the reason for the consults is often stressful, challenging and at times even frustrating, this is no reason to ever account for degradations in communication, respect, safety and kindness. If any of these crucial aspects are lacking or damaged in any degree or capacity during the consultation phase, The Cognitive Cat, LLC deems the right to refuse any new or current clients and terminate the working relationship, refusing further services. We are all on the same team, working towards the same goals, so as long as this foundational aspect is remembered the working client relationship will flourish and have the best potential to set all parties up for success.
